ANOTHER line infection

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - another line infection growing away on the blood culture which means the cell keys are being thrown away for another week here at the Marsden and the hope of having bank holiday Monday at home (brief but precious) gone for good. Bloody buggery bollocks. It seems that just as you utter the words 'on Monday shall we...' that a house officer (always make the junior doctors break the bad news) sidles in to tell you to cancel the milk and papers because you're going nowhere. I'd love to say we take it in our stride but at this stage of the game we absolutely don't. Anyway. There you go. Borrrrrring.

Stanmore bit inconclusive - keep up the good work kind of inconclusive. Like we have an alternative? Would be keeping up the good work a lot more easily if we werent still languishing at the bottom of a WAITING LIST for god's sake for physio - probably along with a hundred grannies who have had hip replacements, or new knees or something slightly less crucial than a six year old trying to learn to walk on a metal leg. However leg was x-rayed again and looking clean and metal and gorgeous. I could look at pictures of it for hours - so great to see it in all its tumourless glory.

So few quick phone calls to line up some spirits-lifting visitors for the next few days to keep us all going and things won't look so grim! Other bit of great news is that Felix has donned sunnies and shorts and is jumping on a plane to Turkey tomorrow with his cousins for a week away swimming and snorkelling off some gorgeous boat both chuffed to bits for him although simultaneously so jealous we could kill him...

Timeline milestone - when this week's chemo over assuming no more infections (hah) Rose is halfway through her chemo cycles!
