(Almost) By Rose!

Rose wanted to write something herself on the blog today but the effort of sitting up in bed and turning her attention to it has worn her out and she wants me to write it for her! Probably what she would say is that she is having a grim few days - the bug that is clinging to her hickman line won't shift and she is now on some pretty major big gun anti biotics - in fact she is now on their last option to treat it before it has to be taken out. We saw a doctor over the bank holiday weekend here who put the fear of god into us by saying the same bug also clings to metal - the implications sort of just hung in the air between us all and then he went off to lead his life leaving us with the familiar sense of dread and anxiety.

We had some lovely visits over the weekend from schoolfriends of Rose's who definitely raised her spirits and ours and some funny photos texted in from Turkey of Felix having a fabulous time but all in all we are both struggling at the moment to stay on top as there seem to be so many pitfalls out there and we seem to be falling headfirst into all of them.

Rose and her constant companion Snuffles sitting right beside me but she is all out of news - she is radioactive today as has been injected with a dye to check out how her kidneys are coping with chemo, audiology test tomorrow for same reason and then chemo meant to be going up tomorrow too if she is well enough but if her temperature stays high they probably won't do it. Everything crossed and double crossed for negative blood cultures and the infection beating a retreat so we can get back on track for chemo.

PS from Rose I had a hand massage yesterday from the massage lady at the hospital and it was lovely!!
